Bike Yatra

Bharat Calling Team’s Rural Journey;

Bike yatar is one of the innovative activities of Bharat Calling to create well being relationship with people of different sections of the society . Till now, we have already covered two Bike Yatras. Before starting our journey, we arrange a workshop for all the participants to understand the importance of the Yatra and participate in it with heart and soul. The workshop helps them to connect to themselves and also with other participants. The entire journey is planned in a way that it not only serves the purpose of the Organization but also help in re-discovering the participant’s own potentials. Bike Yatra starts with people pairing up with those unknown to them in the group so that they get to know each other and explore the inner potentiality and extra ordinary quality of each other during the journey.

During Yatra we start our journey without deciding our destination. Generally the sunset decide our place for night halt. We travel during the day doing different activities and exploring the rural life along with the task we have been provided for.

Our first bike Yatra was more of a self-exploratory program with no specific agenda. Whereas, the 2nd Yatra had some basic objective to identify rural scholars in Babai Blocks, Hoshanagabad and then link them to different prestigious universities in India.

These are the following statistical information of 2nd Bike Yatra;

  • The total no of participants: 12
  • We had taken two days to cover 600kms individually
  • We had covered one block, and 10 villages
  • We physically contacted with 56 students, 3 Government colleges, and more than 100 village people

    During the yatra, two of the Yatri’s visited student named Radhika Tomar(name is changed) studying in 12th standard belonging to an interior Village, Shukhadwaa (Kala) in Babai Block of Hoshangabad District. While conversing with her, they learnt that she wanted to make a career in the banking sector. She is a student of commerce stream. But on asking her that how she can get into banking job,Radhika was clueless. She did not know how to qualify for a banking job. The Yatri’s then told her how she could appear for bank exams and how she could prepare for the exams. Radhika was highly motivated and so was her mother who standing in a corner and listing to the conversation.Radhika’s parents especially her mother is highly supportive of her studying further. Her mother promised that she would surely send Radhika to the Summer Camp as she wants her daughter to be self-dependent and independent.
